Opening it the first time
This build is not notarized by Apple, so the first time you open it, macOS says it can’t check it. That is expected for this build, and only for this app:
- Open the disk image and drag Astrolinks to Applications.
- Open Astrolinks once. macOS says it can’t be checked. Press Done.
- Open System Settings, then Privacy and Security. Near the bottom, press Open Anyway next to Astrolinks.
Please don’t turn off these checks for other apps. Each new build asks again, and you allow window titles again after each update.
What it asks for on a Mac, and why
- Screen Recording. macOS uses this permission for reading window titles. Astrolinks never captures your screen.
- Your browsers, one by one, so it can read the address of the page in front. Without it, a browser is kept by its page title. You can turn this off in Settings with Record web addresses.
After you open it
A short welcome explains what Astrolinks records, then the Get started card in the sidebar walks you through the rest, and Help has a six-step tour. Nothing is recorded until you accept the first welcome step, and you can pause at any time.
